Being the proud mother of two boisterous kids, I’ve gone through my fair share of t-shirts. Most of them wound up in the trash or crumpled up in the back of the kid’s closets. It’s probably awful for me to admit, but the carbon footprint of all those cheap, disposable tops must be off the scale.
Last Christmas I vowed to change this environmentally-unfriendly tradition. In addition to the usual toys and DVDs something rather more practical sat under the Christmas tree in our house this festive season. I bought both kids t-shirts from eco-brand, ‘Ecoalf’.
If you haven’t heard of the brand, then you’ll have certainly seen the slogan that adorns many of their garments: Because There Is No Planet B. It has been seen at climate change protests all over the world, from Greta Thunberg and the School Strikes to Extinction Rebellion’s uprising.
It’s wonderful to find a brand that doesn’t just care about its profits but actively wants to raise awareness about the planet and the climate and ecological emergency. Here are just some of the reasons why you should love Ecoalf’s T-Shirts too:
100% Recycled Material: Modern fabrics are very resource intensive and create a lot of waste. Not only is this tee made from recycled cotton and polyester so it’s better for the planet, it’s also incredibly soft, comfy and gentle on the skin. Even the packaging is made from recycled paper.
Impact: 10% of profits are donated to the Ecoalf Foundation to help clean up the oceans and expand the Upcycling the Oceans Project.
Sustainability: The brand is committed to transparency and providing the best ethical conditions for its suppliers, employees and customers. Sustainability extends to every part of their business. They refuse to take part in Black Friday – a leading cause of pushing more and more useless consumption and production – and they ensure any animal-based materials they use come with only the highest welfare standards.
Innovative: Ecoalf invest heavily in R&D to discover tomorrow’s new eco-friendly materials, fabrics and processes.
Ecoalf is B Corp Certified: They have the honour of being the first Spanish fashion brand certified by B Corp for its commitment to the people and the planet. Certified B Corp Corporations are the best in their field and the best for the environment and society.
So, what was the kids’ verdict? They loved them and relished feeling like little climate activists. I don’t think these t-shirts will ever end up in the back of the closet!

That’s exactly what Flaminia did after buying the nat-2™ Prime Chelsea Boots.
“Wow! I love them! This is the first pair of ‘eco’ boots that I’ve ever owned, and I’m officially a fan. Personally, I really like how soft and stylish they are. They’ll be great for the spring and summer festivals.”
It seems everyone and their dog is carrying around a water bottle today. And it’s not just the gym bunnies showing off their hydration credentials. Increasing attention is being focussed on single -use plastics, particularly the amounts that end up in the ocean. Doing our bit means investing in and choosing a reusable water bottle. So, what water bottle is the best when it comes to sustainability? Which water bottles can be recycled? Not all water bottles are made the same. Many contain harmful chemicals such as BPA and the producers care very little about their environmental and social impact. That’s why Dopper as the perfect water bottle for the eco-conscious.
